Events For April-June 2009

6th-19th April - Easter Fun at the Lighthouse

Join us for The Great Easter Egg Hunt and Art Competition throughout the Easter holidays.

1st-4th May - Show Scotland 'Lighthouses to Make & Take Away'

Come and make your own lighthouse, write your name in signal flags and learn how to tie a know that could save your life.

2nd May - Night at the Light 6.30pm-8.30pm

A night of lighthouse poetry and music for WordFringe.

11th May-28th June - '1001 Views of Kinnaird Head' Exhibition

Fraserburgh Academy's art and design students show off thier talents.

16th May - Night of the Museums 6-8pm

The old light will be lit and shine out accross Fraserburgh on this evening for a one off.

21st May - Gourmet Lunch

At Banff & Buchan College, with the usual style and seriously good food.

22nd May - Night at the Light - Lighthouse Poetry - 4pm-6pm

Our Writer in Residence teams up with local students to read Lighthouse Poetry as part of WordFringe. Click here to see the winning entries.

6th June - Springwatch at the Lighthouse

This day long event will include birdwatching tours of the headland, information and activities about the nature on Kinnaird Head's doorstep. This event is a partnership between the RSPB and Aberdeenshire Council's Ranger Service. Normal Charges apply.

28th June - Re-enactors at The Castle

Kinnaird Head Lighthouse was built on a castle belonging to the Fraser Family. Re-enactors from Historic Scotland will perform a series of events from the lives of the Fraser family on site all day.

An exhibition on Thomas Blake Glover will be held in the nearby Heritage Centre throughout June.
