Victorians and the Lighthouse Resources

This set of resources shows Victorian life in the lighthouse service and compares this to modern life.

Including an orginal lens and flag, signalling flags diary extracts from someone working on a lighthouse supply vessel and 'Directions to Light Keepers' this resource shows students how different life was like in the Victorian lighthouse service.

As the period of invention, this resource also looks at the lighthouses built during the Victorian era and some of the innovations made by the Stevensons.

The box also includes information and activities based around the Flannan Isle Mystery where three lighthouse keepers disappeared.
