Visitors with Mobility Difficulties Lighthouse : There are 74 steps to the top of the lighthouse. The last flight of steps is a narrow ladder. There is no access for people in wheelchairs to the top of the lighthouse. Museum : The whole Museum building is accessible to people in wheelchairs. We are sorry to note that the Museum has had to restrict the use of the stair lift to non-motorised wheelchairs. If you are visiting with a motorised wheelchair we can provide a non-motorised chair for your use on the upper galleries. Visitors with Visual Impairments Visitors with visual impairments should be aware that there are a variety of changing floor and light levels in the Museum building, and the lighthouse has uneven floors. The museum building and lighthouse have many visual elements, and the tour will soon be available as a handout. Visitors with Hearing Imparments There are a variety of audio elements within the Museum building and the tour of the lighthouse is verbal. . Unfortunately the Museum does not have a hearing loop system. |
